I cleaned out my medicine cabinet and have been investing in only organic, chemical-free, environmentally-friendly cosmetics, sunscreens and other toiletries for my family and me. I feel it’s important to take this step in order to support companies that are not polluting their products with phalates, parabens, petrochemicals and other carcinogens.
We’re a 2 prius family. What isn’t reuseable by us or recycled at our condo, gets transport to places that do recycle it. We try to buy fair use and organic products when possible, and make sure we update our fish list to only by sustainable seafood. We also try to buy locally as much as possible, including frequenting our local farmers market.
I buy all my produce from organic and local sources, especially farmer’s markets. (I also always bring my own canvas bag!)
Buying beautiful, sustainable clothing at Sa Va!
Shopping at Sa Va…Using reusable shopping bags…Buying as much produce as I can from farmers market…Biking or walking to work/play…Recycling…Dry cleaning clothes at a non-toxic green cleaners…and buy locally as much as I can from breads to chocolates to clothes!
I know the contest is over, but I have to share my awesome recycling story! I built a paper mache tree in my new elementary school art classroom with the cardboard and packaging that I scrounged up in the school! (All while wearing my favorite brown tweed Erika dress!) I need one in black! Can’t wait to see the look on all of my new students faces this Wednesday!
